Doing the ‘social’ thing…

Hey, all!

I know it’s a small step toward legitimate business stuff, but getting one’s brand locked down on all of the different social media you plan on using is a key part of any good marketing plan. Before I chose the name Megalith Brewing I did quick checks to make sure the name was available on these networks (it was!) – this was an important criteria for any name I was deciding on.

Yesterday I spent some time firming up all of those claims, so here are the official Megalith Brewing Social Networks! Do please follow us on any or all of these networks which you use!

Be sure to ‘Like’ us on Facebook
And Follow the brewery on Untappd
AND ALSO on Instagram!

…and of course our RSS feed (do RSS readers still exist? Surely they must…)

I should probably also think about a mailing list, but not sure yet what I would put on it. We’ll have to see how things shape up, if I have the need for a newsletter, then definitely a mailing list will be in the works.

Next step: Finishing the layout for this website, and pursuing financing!

Coming soon!

Main AvatarI am really excited to announce that I’m taking the very first official steps toward making my homebrewing endeavors into a legit business! Kelleigh Brewing was a great place to start, but the new name I’ll be professionally brewing under is Megalith Brewing!

We’re in the process of getting our operation started, and hope to soon be cranking out the best hand-crafted small batch English-style ales in Portland! This is a project I’ve been working on for over a year now, and am finally at the point where I can begin to take some concrete steps toward realizing my goals.

The short of it is this: Megalith Brewing will be a 1-barrel brewhouse and taproom, located here in lovely Portland Oregon. Our primary focus will be on English ales – bitters/pales, reds, and stouts – but we’ll also have a rotating variety of experimental one-off recipes available each month. Being such a small brewery, we’re not going to be competing with other breweries for taps in local bars, or for shelf space at the grocery store. Our beers will be available ONLY in our own taproom.

Our location is still up in the air, though I’m looking mainly in close-in SE Portland. I’m shooting for around 1200-1400 sq.ft. with seating for about 20-25 people, in a location near enough to take-out restaurants or food carts that folks can grab some food, and bring it into the taproom for some beer. I’ve got my eye on a couple really great looking spots now, and plan to be finalizing something soon. I’ll be continuing to update here at this blog as details are worked out, and you can follow my progress in getting the space up and running. It’s going to be an eventful year, and I’m looking forward to it!

Makers of hand-crafted small-batch English style ales, made from high-quality ingredients and with a Pacific Northwest sense of adventure and experimentation.
